Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Management:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of accountants, senior accountants, and accounting assistants.
- Conduct performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and identify professional development opportunities for team members.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
- Allocate resources effectively and manage departmental workload to meet deadlines.
Accounting Operations & Oversight:
- Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements for a diverse portfolio of clients.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP), tax regulations, and statutory requirements.
- Manage and review general ledger operations, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end closing processes.
- Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure the integrity of financial data.
- Develop, implement, and refine accounting policies and procedures to optimize efficiency and accuracy.
- Oversee payroll processing and related compliance for clients where applicable.
Client Management & Advisory:
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, understanding their unique needs and delivering tailored solutions.
- Identify opportunities to upsell additional services to existing clients.
- Collaborate with other departments (e.g., tax, audit) to ensure seamless client service.
Compliance & Risk Management:
- Stay abreast of changes in accounting standards, tax laws, and industry regulations.
- Ensure all accounting practices adhere to professional ethics and regulatory guidelines.
Professional Certification
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA), or equivalent professional accounting designation.
